Well we can safely say that tomatoes were rubbish this year… they just got too soggy with the rain and didn’t ripen enough, even on the windowsill after they’d been picked – they just weren’t happy! We’ll try again next summer (if we have one of course!)…

Poor tomatoes… they’re looking rather weary after all this rain. They’re changing colour though! Albeit slowly. Have cut some branches (if they’re called branches?) and popped them in a bowl on the kitchen windowsill to see if that helps them ripen. Lisa’s Mum has given us six tomato plants… all looking very healthy. We’ll plant them on the allotment this week – in a bit more sun than last year’s, which were dwarfed by the sweetcorn!
