The Allotment at Barnsdale Gardens
Barnsdale Gardens is on our doorstep… not much more than a five minute drive away, yet we hardly visit - Siobhan had been once before and Lisa never - so today off we went!
The entry fee is £6.50 for adults and we spent about 2 hours wandering through the 37 gardens – many are the gardens that Geoff Hamilton and the Gardeners’ World team created for filming, all complimented by new and ever-changing gardens that the Barnsdale gardeners continue to develop using organic methods.
We really enjoyed ourselves, despite the spots of rain, and will definitely be visiting again – the gardens are truly inspirational.
We were also impressed by the nursery – we treated ourselves to Dicentra, Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Peppers

I live not that far Barnsdale but admit I have only been there once. It is a lovely place and I must make the effort and get out there again. The nursery is really good too.
